Is weight actually related to health?
Absolutely. Weight by itself doesn’t tell us much about what’s going on inside the body. Two people can have the same weight but very different health profiles depending on their body composition. For example: Muscle vs. Fat : Muscle tissue is denser and weighs more than fat tissue. So, someone with a lot of muscle might weigh more but be healthier because muscle supports metabolism and physical function. Fat Distribution : Even if two people have the same weight, if one has more visceral fat (fat around the organs) compared to subcutaneous fat (fat under the skin), their risk for health issues can differ significantly. Visceral fat is linked to higher risks of metabolic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Bone Density : Bone density also impacts weight.
